Kennedyfamfive is all about what works for our family. And what doesn’t work. Because sometimes you just need to know you’re not alone.

The Kennedyfamfive Story
We bought the domain name Kennedyfamfive in 2015. The site was incredibly slow to get started. With no prior experience in blogging or creating websites, Mary read everything she could on doing just that.
Mary had enjoyed writing in high school and college and always felt she had a unique voice in her writing. The blog reflects her analytic and often humorous thoughts on marriage and family issues.
Derek and Mary Kennedy, high school sweethearts, have been married since 1993.
Marriage is not for the weak! Their basic tips for a successful marriage:
- Faith in God has to come first.
- Be each other’s best friend.
- Communication is key!
They have raised their three children while living in Southern Georgia and currently reside in scenic Pine Mountain. Now ages 20, 18, and 16, Haley, Garrett, and Rees are all taking an active part in Kennedyfamfive.
Haley’s YouTube Channel (Made for Flying!) reflects her many and varied travel adventures around the world. She helps people who are first time flyers or want to fly more efficiently.
Garrett’s blog, skrrtl.com, helps people who are building their own PC’s.
Rees’s YouTube Channel (Rees Carolyn) is a vlog about her life.
Parenting young adults is new territory and the temptation to helicopter parent is just as strong now as when they were toddlers…maybe more.
Mary’s Master’s degree in education as well as her teaching background (21 years in the special education and general education classrooms) have had a strong influence on her views of parenting.
Kennedyfamfive’s goal is to honor God by helping families become stronger.
