“Teachers are my people! 😆 Here is where I’ll list any items that I believe will make a big, big difference in your teaching life. I’ll update (including removing things if I find something better!) this page as needed so that you’re always seeing what I currently recommend.
If I’m missing something that should definitely be here, let me know! Email me at mary {at} kennedyfamfive {dot} com.😊
Anglegs
First up is Anglegs. As a Geometry teacher, this is a manipulative that’s useful for introducing congruent triangles, trig ratios, and using with parallelograms.
It’s not babyish, and I usually have kids ask when we’re going to use them again!
Infinite Algebra Software
For sure, if you’re not using this, it will be a lifesaver. Google Kuta Software and you can download free versions to try for a week or so (maybe 2?). The free trials are full versions, so it’s a great way to see all it has to offer.
Essentially the Infinite Algebra (including Alg 1, Geometry, Alg 2, Precal, and more) gives you a menu of subjects and you can choose and customize settings to create worksheets, quizzes, warmups, etc. that you can print and use immediately.
- It’s great for creating multiple versions of the same quiz.
- It’s great for creating reviews with lots of different unit concepts on the same page.
- It’s great if you want multiple choice or free response items.
- It’s great if you want to add your own questions.
- Lol, it’s just great.
Limitations: OK, it’s not 100% perfect…what is?
- Sometimes, it’s hard to find a certain topic. (ProTip: the characteristics of quadratics are probably going to be under “Parabolas” so if you type quadratics, you won’t see it there.🙄)
- Some topics just aren’t included: Proofs. Understandable, but boy would it be nice.
Just like you…I’m pressed for time, so that’s all I have today!
You’ve got this!
