Transformations of quadratics is an important part of Algebra. I’m always primed to find new ways to teach, practice, and assess.
Here are some ideas for making it easier for you and better for your students.
Google Slides Introduction
Letting students make connections by using food is usually a hit in the classroom.
Here, I used the transformation of a plain, unfrosted cupcake, to its decorated end product to help kids recognize that they see transformations all the time.
This activity activates their analytic skills.
And…this Google Slides activity is available for you {for free!} as a Kennedyfamfive resource!
Done-For-You Assessment for Transformations of Quadratics
Here’s an assessment that’s already done, or you can use what you see in the video to make your own!
I love how customizable this assessment is for your classroom. You can change the answers to multiple choice and reword them, or you can delete some of the answer choices if necessary.
I hope you’ve found some new resources for teaching transformations of quadratics!
